ICSE & Co. (International Center for Southern Europe) is a non-profit organization linked to the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Florence.
Our goal is to promote sustainable social development, especially in the Mediterranean area, especially through the lifelong learning tool. We carry forward stimulating projects that produce change in society and in participants.
Since 2010 we have worked in three main areas:
- Analyze and promote the circulation of brains as opportunities for development and growth for civil society in Europe. We have created workshops and conferences to inform young Albanian graduates in Tuscany about opportunities in Albania and foreign students about the offer and services of the Tuscan Universities;
- To offer young people the opportunity to develop their professional and personal skills in a multicultural and international environment, with particular attention to university students (Italian and international). With particular attention to university students we carry out formal and non-formal training activities at the international level. This through access to European and local funds;
- Offer integration paths for migrants and asylum seekers. We have carried out Italian courses and workshops for asylum seekers present in Florence;
- Provide services for the internationalization of companies and development cooperation between Italy and the Balkans. We have worked with Italian, Albanian, Macedonian and Kosovarian institutions. to carry out projects that contribute to sustainable development in the Balkans, creating an international network of bodies and NGOs.
Icse&Co has created in collaboration with local association in Pistoia activities in schools to promote the integration and promotion of migrants and their culture among their peers. We especially involved the Albanian local community organizing Albanian language courses, no formal activities in schools on multiculturalism, migration, multilingualism
