Worldwide educating for global citizenship is one of the objectives of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030, with the aim 4 that commits the international community to “provide quality education, fair and inclusive, and learning opportunities for all”. In particular, education for global citizenship is directly mentioned in paragraph 4.7: “Guaranteeing by 2030 that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to promote sustainable development, including through education aimed at development and style sustainable life, human rights, gender equality, the promotion of a peaceful and non-violent culture, global citizenship and the enhancement of cultural diversity and the contribution of culture to sustainable development. ”
In recent months many Italian institutions, institutions, universities and associations have worked together to draft the document “Italian Strategy for Education for Global Citizenship” which today offers an important and awaited framework for the definition of interventions in the sector.
